Voyages for people aged over 18, and especially those over 25 who cannot join our youth voyages
Adult voyages in 2026 and 2027
There is one remaining adult weekend in 2026 and this is open for bookings:
9-11 Oct 2026, Southampton, 2 nights, age range 18+, £270 per person, adult weekend voyage (Friday evening to Sunday evening)
There are also two weekends open for bookings in 2027:
23-25 April 2027, Southampton, 2 nights, age range 18+, £275 per person, adult weekend voyage (Friday evening to Sunday evening)
17-19 Sept 2027, Southampton, 2 nights, age range 18+, £275 per person, adult weekend voyage (Friday evening to Sunday evening)
Background information for adult voyages
While OYT South’s primary purpose is to sail with young people aged 11-25, we do have occasional voyages for people aged over 25 – mainly on voyages open to anyone aged 18+. (This means that people aged 18-25 can choose to sail on either youth voyages or adult voyages).
These allow us to sail with all sorts of people with an interest in our work:
- Prospective sea staff who want to find out whether they would enjoy sailing with us as volunteers
- Adults who are interested in sailing a 30-metre yacht operating as a commercial vessel and seeing how it is run
- Any other adults interested in some fun sailing in good company
- Former crew members who are now past the age of 25 and no longer eligible for youth voyages
- Sponsors and donors who want to see what is achieved through their support
- Parents and other family members of young people who come home talking about what a great time they have had on board Prolific.
- Teachers, youth workers, etc. who are considering bringing a group to sail with us
- Other charities and good causes doing joint fundraising events with OYT South
- Companies interested in corporate sailing who would prefer their fee for the day to go to a charity like OYT South instead of into the profits of a commercial sailing firm.
- Special day sails for particular groups – such as the confidence-building day sail for Muslim women that we ran in conjunction with Wheatsheaf Trust; the day sail we ran in 2022 for a local school as part of the Southampton International Boat Show’s outreach work; or the regular day sails we run for corporate sponsors, other donors and supporters.
