Privacy notices – what happens to your information if you book
The programme below gives details of dates, prices and start and finish ports but does not tell you where a voyage is likely to go between start and finish ports. This is very dependent on the weather, but also on the young people in the crew. Some want to do long-distance adventures and are keen to sail all night in difficult conditions, others want a gentler introduction to sailing. Some groups have passports, others don’t; some crews are fit and confident, others include young people with special needs. The decision about where to go therefore depends on you – we don’t decide in advance.
Where voyages are marked “enquiry” on the programme, it means that someone has made an intial bid for a full-boat booking but nothing has been confirmed and no deposit has yet been paid, so if you really want that voyage – or a change to the programme that might require an alteration to that voyage – please ask. We will then go back to the original client and see if they want to confirm – if not, you may be able to book the voyage. “Reserved” means a deposit has been paid and we are just waiting for the full fee – it is harder, though not always impossible, to amend a reserved voyage.
Any light blue voyage with “12 – 15” in the “berths available” column is still open for a full-boat group booking.
Yellow rows may be mixed voyages open to individual bookings rather than an organised group, showing the number of berths still available. When indivduals contact us about booking, we will attempt to allocate people to broadly compatible groups depending on availability – we wouldn’t want to book a 12-year old on a week where everyone else is 18 or over, for example..
Voyage start and finish times may vary, so do confirm these with the office, but in most cases, UK-based voyages will start at 4pm on the first day and end at 10am on the last day. There are some exceptions – for example, we can start earlier or finish later on voyages preceded or followed by a maintenance / cleaning day, and there may be differences with periods such as half-terms when we are trying to make the best use of limited time.
Please note that whether or not voyages start and/or finish outside the UK, we may also visit other countries (generally France), depending on Covid. Passports and any necessary visas will be required, unless it is specifically agreed with a client that a particular voyage will be UK-only. This is normally straightforward with group bookings.
Contact the office to make a booking.
We now have a DRAFT sailing programme for 2024 and we have sent it round to our regular clients! If anyone else is interested in a full-boat group booking for next year, please contact caroline.white@oytsouth.org. At this stage it may be possible to amend the programme to meet clients’ needs. Once we have a final version of the programme, we will designate some voyages for individual rather than group bookings, so there’s no rush to enquire about those just yet!
